Biomass Fractionation

Develop advanced fractionation techniques to separate canola meal into cellulose-rich and protein-rich feedstocks for versatile, sustainable applications, to provide foundational materials for biocomposites and other bio-industrial uses.

Nanomaterials & Biocomposites

Create nanoscale nanocellulose and protein nanofiber blocks for bioplastics, controlled delivery, and carbon capture while advancing processing technologies to enable high-volume production of canola-based bioplastics and biocomposites, replacing petroleum-based materials and reducing microplastic pollution.

Agricultural Applications

Create eco-friendly solutions such as biodegradable films, bioactive delivery systems for crop and livestock health, and biobased scaffolds for cellular agriculture. Our goal is to promote sustainable farming by providing alternatives to traditional inputs, minimizing environmental impact, and supporting a circular agricultural economy.
